I’ve managed to post all of my Amsterdam pictures. It only took about a month to clear the desk (or rather the iPhoto collection).

I would just like to note that I have bothered Flickr with yet another batch of photos from Amsterdam. No theme this time – just impressions from the streets and canals.

Today, we’re off to Jordaan. That’s the old working-class neighbourhood to the west of the Grachtengordel.

The photo shows a monument celebrating some famous Dutch singers and musicians from the Jordaan, first and foremost Johnny Jordaan (real name: Johannes Hendricus van Musscher) and Tante Leen (Helena Kok-Polder)

But wait, there is more: Johnny Jordaan was the cousin of Carel Verbrugge, aka Willy Alberti and Alberti’s daughter Willeke, an entertainer in her own right, was married to … drum-roll … Søren Lerby in the 1980s. Through an earlier marriage, Willeke was also linked to TV-magnate John de Mol of Endemol and BigBrother-fame.

Now I’ve only got something like 350 photos to fix.

That’ll teach me to buy a 512KB memory card.
