Notes from the Outside of the Inside

About Me

without comments

I am a political scientist and since taking my Ph.D. in 1992, I’ve worked at a number of Danish and Swedish universities. My main professional interests are political parties, party systems and public policy, in particular social policy and social insurance programmes. I am familiar with both quantitative and qualitative approaches but my work has mainly been based on qualitative analyses.

My LinkedIn profile

Since 2008 I have been affiliated as a researcher with the Department of Political Science at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense. At the moment I am working on contributions to a book about the development of the Danish Labour Marked Supplementary Pension, ATP. My work on a history of the Danish unemployment insurance and activation policies will appear as part of vols. 2-6 of the Danish Welfare History (Dansk Velfærdshistorie) between 2011 and 2014. Vol. 1 of the series was released in November 2010.

So, how do I look like? Well, the MadMenYourself machine thinks this is me:

Other Stuff

Besides maintaining this blog in WordPress, I’ve made websites and learning environments using Mediawiki, PingPong, Rapid Weaver and even hand-coded html with a bit of css. When I’m in the mood, I can get Microsoft Frontpage to produce standards-compliant pages.

On occasions, I’ve reviewed manuscripts submitted to Scandinavian Political Studies, Local Government Studies and European Journal of Political Research. I have also reviewed manuscript proposals for Routledge.
