Nothing special here but I was just spending some time playing with Eurostat. The chart shows the yearly growth rates in real GDP for Denmark and a number of Northern European countries.1

It is an old tale by now but still: Denmark was severely hit by the 2007 financial crisis and despite stimulus packages and “kick starts” growth has been sluggish, especially compared with Sweden but Germany has also consistently surpassed Denmark since 2006. My 5¢ is that we have to take the weak state of the Danish economy into account if we want to understand the disastrous opinion poll results of the present government.
