I skipped the two hour debate on DR2 – and the Euro2012 qualifier against Norway – to watch the “Blue” parties debate on TV2 News. This was a bit more engaging than the “Red” debate last week as it felt like the parties actually had the courage to put forward their disagreements on a number of issues. Still, the quality of the arguments didn’t really impress.
The take-away from the debate had less to do with possible constellations of the centre-right parties, though, and more with the subject all parties have done their best to avoid during the campaign: Europe. The Liberals’ Peter Christensen declared that a possible centre-right government would have to be “realistic” about a referendum about one or more of the Danish opt-outs. In my ears this said: No referendums under a Liberal-Conservative government.
