I’m at a research seminar today and tomorrow and consequently haven’t had too much time to follow today’s events. That Lene Espersen would resign as party leader was at this point in time no real surprise. That Lars Barfoed and Brian Mikkelsen both intend to stand for selection as her successor was.
That Henriette Kjær and – especially – her husband are involved in some kind of economic mess is, unfortunately, not surprising either but a bloody family feud involving a leading Conservative is definitively not what the party needs now.
Update: So, no Brian Mikkelsen in the competition. Fast moves.
