For Once, the Majority Is Right
Okay, in general you should never trust a journalist who reports an opinion poll, but for once I’ll make an exception: According to a poll 63 per cent of Danes think that media give to much space to Jørn Nielsen, “spokesman” for Hell’s Angels.
Indeed, if anybody is treated like royalty by the press, it’s Mr. Nielsen, a convicted assassin.
One group stands out, though: Supporters of the Danish People’s Party are more likely to think that media give Mr. Nielsen due coverage. So much for the law-and-order credentials of that party: Just say anything negative about people with an immigrant background and everything is forgiven.
But we are left with a problem: What is it about Hell’s Angels that make Danish journalists lose their critical distance completely, not just once but repeatedly?
And: Can anybody take Søren Pind seriously anymore?
