“Instrument of Government” was the title used in England for the Cromwellian state’s constitution, the first and only British written constitution. And, oddly enough, the Swedish amendment process is oddly like the Parliament Act.

Interesting. This is the formal translation of the Swedish “Regeringsformen”. Why the Swedes have never just written one constitution beats me.

the introduction of an investiture vote seems somewhat logical in the development of recent swedish politics, since the lines have become more clear-cut with alliansen on one side and the center-left opposition on the other. with sap, mp and v joining forces to offer to voters an alternative coalition government at the 2010 elections, it seems rather unlikely that we will see a minority cabinet in the near future at least barring an entry into riksdag by the sweden democrats
