Point #3: The daughter story is very fascinating.

And as it is, this is a lot of noise, taking attention from things like the economy, public pensions and health care.

There is only one thing worse than not having a job and that is applying for a job. Even – or perhaps, especially – in academia. Continental European universities have their own quirks, but this one pretty much covers it.

Matt Yglesias suddenly took an interest in moose stew (something to do with Alaska, I’d guess) and immediately crashed a recipe site.

Moose actually tastes quite good and I’ll miss the sliced moose meat that I could buy in my local supermarket in Ume�. Reindeer isn’t that bad, either.
