Risk
Yesterday’s events in Denmark where Brøndby morons supporters destroyed a train-set raises some interesting issues. Basically, the problem is this: If a private organisation organises and event which with a high degree of probability leads to public disturbances or damages to other people’s property, who should carry the risk?
Given the absurd amount of money floating around in international soccer, you may be excused for thinking that Danish clubs want all of the benefits while passing on costs to the general public.
Anyway, I’ve met gangs groups of hockey and soccer hooligans fans in Stockholm and Copenhagen many times and generally, their behaviour is at best annoying and more likely intimidating.
