The NYT article was certainly over the top, and it really just describes the pub scene in any Western European city, not just CPH, but…Copenhagen really is as spiffy and efficient as described, in comparison to most any other place in the world (certainly similarly sized US cities), is it not? One should always push for positive change, but I’ve been surprised to discover how many Copenhageners describe their public transport as dirty/unreliable and their bureaucracies as inefficient. Of course, the trains don’t always run on time and the buses can be late – but doesn’t this happen far less frequently in CPH than in other cities/continents? Time spent outside Denmark may well foster more respect for the orderliness and civic-mindedness that the city exudes!
I enjoy your blog very much.
