Stupid Man
As I am spending the day nursing my Norwalk disease-ridden intestines, I cannot offer any profound thoughts about the latest canon, the Danish government has honoured the good people of Denmark with.
Instead, I will point you to LizardBreath of Unfogged who points out that smartness and stupidity may be on two different dimensions and not polar ends of the same quality:
I’ve known an awful lot of very bright people — people keep telling me I’m fairly clever myself — and they (including me) are just as likely to do cripplingly idiotic things as anyone else. Particularly when it involves their sex lives or emotional lives.
I think we can be reasonably certain that Eliot Spitzer will not be the last smart stupid man to hit the headlines.
