And so Berlingske Tidende’s business section tells us that the Danes are really, really happy with their lives.

There is one shadow in this happy message, though: Danes are very dependent on the support and recognition of others. This immediately begs the question – is the Danish happiness based on some kind of genetic mutation or is lack of support and recognition for groups of immigrant youths (or as they are called in Danish terminology: “youths of a different ethnic background”) the simple explanation behind the present riots?

Oh, and if you can’t get enough of the Danish joie de vivre, here’s 2900 Happiness, Danish TV3′s answer to the O.C. and Desperate Housewives.
