Cartoons

without comments

The Muhammad cartoon story still lives, at least in some quarters. BBC has the news about today’s arrests, and Danish politicians across the entire political spectrum have condemned the plot.

One point of interest could be that the former head of the Domestic Intelligence Service, Hans Jørgen Bonnichsen, wonders why the alleged plotters were not presented in a court – the two Tunisian citizens will be extradited while a Danish citizen of Moroccan descent will probably be released pending further investigations. Most likely the Intelligence Service has given a high priority to the prevention of any possible attacks, but we shouldn’t expect that it will be very vocal about its motives.

Update – well, vocal and vocal, but the head of the agency has hinted that it has informations it wouldn’t want to reach the public.

In case you want my original take on the cartoon story, go to the Political Reviews page, scroll down to Muhammad Cartoon Crisis and follow the links.

Update update: I’ll outsource the “can-you-depict-Muhammad” question to Michael Tinkler.
