If I were a Norwegian, I would be a Liberal.

Via Laura McKenna.

PS: My Danish test result from early November also made me a (Social) Liberal.

It turns out that the Danish PM’s favourite words are “Denmark”, “Europe” and “the World”. “Afghanistan” is more frequent in his New Year’s Speeches than “Environment”. (Source: Politiken, using the Many Eyes programme)

The same thing has been done for US presidents, btw.

1968

Daniel Davies argues that 1968 is A Long Time Ago Now (long time as in forty years):

I therefore declare 2008 to be officially The Year That We No Longer Have The 1960s To Blame.

Albert Camus might have put it more elegantly:

Alas, after a certain age every man is responsible for his face

Not that Conservative pundits have learnt something from Mr. C.

Oh, and by the way: Whenever pundits are yakking about the despicable 68′ers, they forget that the most left-wing generation (at least in Denmark and Sweden) is the one born in the 1950s – like Anders Fogh and Bendt Bendtsen. In Denmark, the left reached its peak in 1979, not 1968.
