Friday Notes: Block vs. Block

Another way of looking at Gallup’s political index – which by the way showed a Lib-Cons-DPP majority for the first time in the campaign today – published by Berlingske Tidende.

Worth noting: The mysteriously disappearing Danish People’s Party voters. I don’t know if or how Gallup has taken this interesting problem into consideration.

I’ll get back to the local tax-story tomorrow.

Horizontal Integration

One word of advice to people who want to visit Scandinavia and get a first-hand experience of the alleged liberal sexual morals of these countries: Use a f#¤”ing condom!

Why? Because Chlamydia is a major epidemic among young Scandinavians of both sexes, so if you don’t use your brains (and a condom), chances are that you will get a really sneaky souvenir from your visit.

But our friends the epidemiologists hold an interesting surprise in store for us. It turns out that Sweden is the home of a specific mutation of the chlamydia virus and with the increased integration of the Øresund region you might have expected the Swedish mutation to appear in great numbers in the Copenhagen region.

As it is, the answer is no: Swedes (to simplify) suffer from one line of chlamydia, Danes from another. The labour markets may have been integrated with lots of Swedes working in Copenhagen but at the end of the day, they go home to have sex with their own kind.

That the Danish People’s Party and the Unity List are polar opposites when it comes to immigration policy and cultural issues should come as no surprise. That neither party is particularly subtle is no surprise, either.

Courtesy of YouTube, I bring you:

The Why-Don’t-We-Have-A-Zlatan Film by the Unity List.

The the Open-Air-Museum-Is-In-Danger Film by the Danish People’s Party.

(Sorry but I’m too stupid to embed YouTube-stuff).

Leopard Notes

  1. I like the design of the Finder – but…
  2. I don’t like the “transparent” Menu bar.
  3. I like Spaces.
  4. I don’t understand why Apple decided to disable the firewall by default. I really, really don’t. Especially not when the firewall has a nice functionality for allowing and blocking applications. Did an undercover agent from Microsoft mess with the code here? :-(
  5. The system is nice and fast on a 2,5 year old 1,67GHz G4 PowerBook with 1GB of RAM
