I can see why Apple stopped delivering Macs with modems: This is a little under 250 MBs’ worth of updates in one go. It’s okay if you have a 2Mps line (as I do), but I’m not sure anything less would be that nice.

How Political Analysis Is Like Celebrity Gossip

It strikes me, reading about Vladimir Putin’s latest mysterious maneuver, that the business of analyzing opaque political systems like those of Russia, China, Iran, or Venezuela is a lot like what celebrity gossip magazines do.

Oh, a lot of domestic “political analysis” fits the description as well. And a lot of blogging, too.

And while we’re at it: Politiken comments Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s opening speech and so does Berlingske Tidende and Jyllands-Posten.
