Concrete
Ah, the poetic concrete of Ålidhem.
And with this, I wish you a merry Midsummer.
Meanwhile in the Business World
In Danish society, A.P. Møller ranges along with the royal family as a national treasure and the often opague signals emanating from the hideously ugly corporate headquarters (yes, the buldings are not just ugly) are received as signs of profound wisdom by the stunning public.
This means that when the “Group-CEO” is unceremoniously dumped on a Friday morning, that makes some serious headlines.
Executive summary: Jess Søderberg “decides to spend more time with his family” from December 2007. His successor will be Nils Smedegaard Andersen, presently CEO of Carlsberg. Smedegaard Andersen was apparently recruited by A.P.Møller patriarch Mærsk McKinney Møller from a post in the group’s board while sidestepping a number of internal hopefuls (some of which have already announced their departure from the firm).
iTunes U
Kim Bach discusses iTunes U (that’s the department of iTunes Store collecting academic podcasts – link for those with iTunes installed).
Umeå University has a podcasting initiative whose effects are … a little unclear to me.
I’ll get back to that. Promise.
