“Interesting observation: True Swedes do not bother to react when Sweden is the topic of debate in Denmark. Danes react instantaneously and agressively when Denmark is the topic of debate in Sweden.”

I’ll second this with another interesting observation: The Swedish debate is only worthy of debate in Denmark when the Swedes are debating the Danish debate.

Our impression over here is that the Swedes and their media continuously espouse an overly negative image of Denmark and Danish politics. This impression is helped by the dominance of left-wing intellectuals in Sweden, and of the alliance between these and disillusioned Danish left-wing intellectuals seeking support in a country that hasn’t questioned dominance of the left in their own country yet.

In short, we feel the Swedes are talking maliciously behind our backs, helped by certain Danish left-wingers.

    Cheers,

It probably isn’t relevant, but we don’t debate either of you very much.

Except in truly shocking cases, when the DK interior minister suggested that asylum-seekers should be put on an island; or when a “right-wing” coalition is elected in SE.

Danish biker misbehaviour and the Stockholm honour-killing get coverage, of course… as do smouldering topics like the Palme murder.

Norway hardly ever gets a mention, unless it’s to say that they tempt our nurses from where they’re needed.
