And May the Best Paper Win
The Danish media market is in turnoil. Following the introduction of free daily newspapers MetroExpress and Urban both of which are distributed at railway stations and other public spaces, the first of a bunch of free newspapers that are delivered to people’s homes were published on Thursday. Besides an Islandic enterprise, JP/Politiken and Det Berlingske Officin have trowns their hats (or press cards, if you like) in the ring.
How many of the new papers will survive, and how many of the classic newspapers will disappear in the coming years? We don’t know.
